To celebrate Quebec products, I decided to replace grenadine syrup by a good homemade blueberry syrup. It is of course possible to buy a ready-made one in a store, but making it yourself will only take you 5 minutes!

Blueberry syrup recipe
Ingredients :
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/3 cup (85 ml) water
- 2 cups (500 ml) blueberries (fresh or frozen)

Directions :

  1. In the bottom of a pot, add the sugar and cornstarch. Add the water and whisk.
  2. Add blueberries and bring to a boil.
  3. Let boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat, let cool a bit.
  5. Filter if you only want the syrup without the remaining small pieces of fruit. I made the choice to keep them all.
